The Author's Role

She wants to be your lover.
Your midnight walks along the secret hidden beach
With the mystical sunset looming out before you
The one to reach for your lonely hand
Just when you thought you'd never get your perfect kiss
She wants to cause that smile.

She wants to be your best friend
Your girlfriend you giggle with like school girls
As you pour over old fads and broken records,
Lost boyfriends and cherished memories
The one you can confide in when the rest of the world shuts you out
She wants to cause that laugh.

She wants to be your drug dealer
Your weakness in the obsession.
The way your thoughts are clouded by darkness
The fire in your eyes and the weakness in your mind
The one that makes you beg for just one more hit, one more struggling vision
She wants to cause your confusion.

She wants to be your enemy
Your stubborn ways are only good if used against you
She wants to feed that thought and watch your mind do its magic
As it twists and turns with new anger
The one to make you feel your power and ignite your passion
She wants to cause your strength

She wants to be your heartbreaker
Your kryptonite as you walks among us.
She wants to be the reason that you suffer and
Every death that you couldn’t take
The one to make you cry your heart out to a world that won’t listen
She wants to cause your tears

She wants to be your brother
Your smart ass jab and cause for bruised ribs
The one that wrestles you to the ground
And can school you in games.
The one that always one up's you and brings you to your knees
She wants to cause your embarrassment

She wants to be your author
The one that you feel converts you to a whole new world
To all new feelings that you never had.
She wants to be the one to light the way
The one to remind you what it’s like to imagine
She wants to cause your reaction.

Just by being another half to a thought that you never spoke
And a twinge of a feeling that you never forgot
Just by giving you new remarkable encounters you never thought of
And incomparable frustrations that you never felt
She wants to be the one to bring out the passion that you didn’t even know you had
She wants to be your distraction.

...In a world where you think you are a whole.
She wants to be your other half.
